Named New York Entrepreneur of the Year in 1991 by the prestigious worldwide accounting firm Ernst and Young, Mr. Waxman has spent the last 20+ years deeply involved in entrepreneurial ventures with positive social and environmental impact. Following 15 years of sales and marketing management with Aluminum Company of America (now Alcoa, Inc.), he founded Metropolitan Mining Company, Inc. (MetroMining) in 1983, a pioneer in the recycling industry. In 1995 he created MM Reserves, Ltd. (MMRL), a consulting firm focusing on startups, pre-revenue or turn-around situations. He also serves as a director of Magnetic Power, Inc. of Sebastopol, CA, an alternate energy development company.
